Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
1. Who is responsible for your data
This site is operated by Marcin Stańczyk, working as “Marc Stan”, an independent software engineer based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. For any privacy question or request, contact hello@marc-stan.com. I am the data controller for the personal data described below.
2. What data I process
- Data you give me directly — when you email me, book a call, or send a message: your name, email, phone/WhatsApp (if you share it), and whatever you tell me about your project.
- Business contact data for outreach — if I contact your business first, I process limited professional contact details (company name, a generic or role-based business email such as info@ or hello@, website, and the public reason your business is relevant to my services).
3. Where outreach data comes from (GDPR Art. 14)
When I contact a business I haven't heard from before, the contact details come from publicly available business sources — your company website, public business directories, and professional listings. I do not buy marketing lists of personal data, and I keep only the minimum needed to make relevant, low-volume, business-to-business contact.
4. Why I process it, and my lawful basis
- To reply to you and deliver work — lawful basis: performance of a contract or taking steps at your request (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To make relevant B2B introductions — lawful basis: legitimate interest in offering specialised engineering services to businesses likely to need them (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). You can object at any time (see section 7), and I keep this proportionate: relevant recipients only, minimal data, easy opt-out.
5. Who I share it with
I do not sell your data and I do not share it for others' marketing. I use a small number of service providers acting on my instructions — for example email and hosting/CDN providers — strictly to operate this site and correspond with you. This static site is served via a CDN and loads web fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address to deliver the fonts.
6. How long I keep it
I keep correspondence and project data only as long as needed for our conversation or engagement and any legal/accounting obligations, then delete it. If you opt out of outreach, I keep the minimum record needed to make sure I don't contact you again (a suppression list).
7. Your rights & how to opt out
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or port your data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. To exercise any of these — or to never be contacted again — just email hello@marc-stan.com or reply “STOP” / “unsubscribe” to any message. I action opt-outs promptly and permanently.
If you believe I've mishandled your data, you can complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD).
8. Changes
I may update this policy as my work or the law evolves; the “last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
This notice is provided in good faith and in plain language; it is not legal advice. If your situation needs formal legal review, consult a qualified professional.
